Epping Junior Rugby Union fields teams in all age groups from Under 6s to Under 17s. Registrations will be taken on the 7th, 14th, 21st and 28th February at Somerville Park from 5pm to 7pm. For our members enjoyment and safety, the rules of the game are adapted to suit the age of the players. For two or more children, there is a family rate available for Under 10s to Under 17s. Registration deatails can be obtained by contacting the club Registrar, Sharlene Cook on 0402 293 082 or sharlenecook@hotmail.com Our annual fee includes full registration, insurance, loan of a jersey, referees fees, use of club facilities and a season of fun filled rugby. Under 6 and 7: FREE Under 8 and 9: $50 Under 10 to 17/18: $110 Free shorts and socks for all new members to the club. Free Gear Pack for all Under 6 to Under 12.
Epping is one of the largest rugby clubs in the Eastwood District with over 250 junior players (boys and girls) registered. Epping Juniors also forms part of the Epping Rugby and Netball Club which boasts an additional 5 Senior grades, Golden Oldies and 5 Womens Netball teams - a total of over 450 playing members. Many Epping juniors have gone on to achieve great success in the rugby world. Some have become Wallabies including Ian Williams, Mick Mathers, Brett Papworth, Matt Mostyn, Steve Tuynman (the Club Patron), Matt Burke and Lachlan Turner. Wallaby fullback Marty Roebuck was one of the Epping coaching staff, coaching our Under 8s. Epping Rugby Under 6s to Under 9s teams (Minis) play in the local Eastwood District Minis competition. The Under 10s to Under 17s (Juniors) play in the Sydney Junior Rugby Union competition. Our home ground is Somerville Park, Blaxland Road, Eastwood. |
